Asian regions have had an unprecedented growth. Japanese foreign direct investment is the main driving force of the automotive industry in Asia. The major automobile exporter in Asia is Thailand. The developing countries of Asia also greatly contribute to the Asian automotive industry.

1. Toyota Corolla
This is a car from the Japanese manufacturer Toyota, which is in existence from 1966. The line of subcompact Toyota Corollas came into existence from 1966 to 1987. The line of compact Toyota Corollas has been in existence since 1988. On an average one Toyota Corolla is sold every 40 seconds. There have been about 10 models introduced of the car. Toyota Corolla succeeded Toyota Publica. In Latin Corolla is known as a small crown.
2. Honda Civic
Yet another car from a Japanese manufacturer Honda, the Civic was introduced in July 1972. It was launched as a two-door coupe and the coupe was succeeded by a three-door hatchback. The subcompact Civic was present from 1973 to 2000. The compact Civic has been present since 2001 till date. The predecessors of the Honda Civic are Honda N360 and Honda Z600. It has been prevalent in street, drag, grassroots and touring car racing.
3. Honda Accord
Honda 300 was succeeded by Honda Accord. In Japan the compact car has been present from 1975 to 1989 and the mid-size car has been present from 1990 till date. This car is sold in maximum car markets in the world than any other car. The first ever Japanese car manufactured in the United States is the Honda Accord. Various versions and body styles have been introduced by Honda of the Accord. The debut model was the compact hatchback, and following it were the wagon, sedan and coupe.
4. Volkswagen Golf
The Golf was first introduced in 1974 and has been a favorite since then. It is a small car fit for a family and is also known by the name of Volkswagen Rabbit. It is of the Volkswagen Group A Platform series. It succeeded the Volkswagen Beetle. It is related to the Volkswagen Jetta and Scirroco.

Launched in 1997 Altima by Nissan is related to the Nissan Teana. The compact class was present from 1993-1997 and the mid size class has been available since 1998 till date. Nissan Altima has succeeded Nissan Stanza. In Asia the Altima is mostly available in the Middle East. Nissan Teana is sold in place of the Altima in other markets of the world sans North America where it is known as Nissan Altima only.
6. Honda CR-V
This is a compact crossover car manufactured by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda. It has been in production since 1995. It is a four door sports utility vehicle (SUV). It has been built on the Honda Civic platform and was launched by Honda to satisfy the needs of the public for a sports utility vehicle by Honda. In Asia the CR-V is produced in Japan. It has had a recent facelift in 2010.
7. Infiniti FX50
In 2003 Nissan launched a luxury vehicle brand by the name of Infiniti. It is luxury crossover SUV produced by Infiniti. The predecessor to this car was the Infiniti QX4. The Nissan FM platform is used for this vehicle. The car is assembled in Japan and Tochigi. FX50 is the second generation model of the Infiniti FX series launched in 2009. The FX50 is a five door SUV and has a “Bionic Cheetah” look.
8. Toyota Camry
This car has succeeded the Toyota Corona and Toyota Celica Camry. The narrow-body compact class has been present in the markets from 1980 to 1998 and the wide-body compact class has been in production since1991 till date. The word Camry in Japanese is known as crown. This car is doing very well in all Asian markets.
9. Toyota Land Cruiser
The Toyota Motor Corporation’s Land Cruiser is a four wheel drive vehicle. The off road class has been in production since 1951 and the full size class has been in production since 1954. It is a jeep-like vehicle by Toyota. It has been produced in a variety of versions like the utility truck, convertible, station wagon and hardtop.
10. Range Rover
The Land rover is a British Car manufacturer owned in India by the Tata Motors. The car is in its third generation. The mid sixe SUV class was available from 1970-2001 and the full size SUV has been present since 2002 till date. The team of its designers was headed by Charles Spencer King. It has been under the scanner for the environmental damage caused by large and luxurious automobiles.
