Ten Most Expensive Cars in Each Brand

Ten Most Expensive Cars in Each Brand

Expensive cars exist only in the realm of the rich and famous. We can look at them enviously as they glide past us with a murmur and with the grace of a gazelle. Every car manufacturer has at least one elite, fabulously expensive car within his brand, which is built exclusively for their select customers. They bring them out in limited quantities since they want to retain the exclusivity of the brand.
Here are ten of these cars:

1. Lamborghini Reventon:
They are renowned for their expensive cars, but this one is on top of their list also. Costing about $ 1,600,000, it has a top speed of 212mph. They build only 20 of these every year; hence their exclusivity and price are maintained.

2. Ferrari Enzo:
A superb car, it has always been very popular among the rich and the famous. They produced only 400 of these cars, and even today the previously owned models are sold at a much higher price than it’s original costing of $ 670,000. Ferrari’s craftsmanship is renowned and this is one of their masterpieces.

3. Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Roadster:
With superb German technology behind it, this gorgeous convertible is prized among car fanatics. It has the world’s fastest automatic transmission, and a top speed of 206 mph, is well known for its excellent performance and style. At $ 495,000 it is definitely not built for the general public.

4. Porsche Carrera GT:
How can we expect anything but the best from Porsche? A true racing car feel in a convertible of the highest quality, this beauty can cost you anything around $ 440,000.

5. Maybach Exelero :
Most people are not familiar with a Maybach car – since every model of it is a high-end model. It is loosely termed as a super luxury Merc, because the production lines are the same. But for those who have owned a Maybach – there are none which are equal to it in performance and engineering. Be ready to fork out $ 8 million for this particular beauty.

6. BMW Z8:
How can we not have a BNW in this list? Always the symbol of ultimate luxury, BMW cars have the hallmark of excellent craftsmanship, great looks and superb technology. The Z8 is all this and much more. It is a limited production series, so if you want to buy one, be quick about it and spend about $ 130,000.

Let us now look at some of the other more common brands and their offerings in this category:

7. Honda NSX:
Also known as the Acura NSX, this beauty from Honda was a sports car built by them. With a cost factor of around $ 160,000, it achieved great popularity due to its excellent engine and superb styling.

8. Hyundai Equus:
Hyundai’s most expensive and its largest sedan the Equus can put you back about $ 110,000. Available in a range of styles, there is even a bullet proof model on sale for some special people. Among Hyundai aficionados it is considered to be a milestone car.

9. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1:
Among Corvette models, this is the king of all it surveys. With a powerful engine and a speed of 200 MPH, it has overtaken all other Corvette models. It carries a price tag of over $ 106,000.

10. Nissan GT – R:
At $ 77,000 this is one of the cheaper cars in this category, but Nissan has achieved a great deal of success because of this model. The performance of the car has received many kudos and it carries with it the symbolism of being the most expensive Nissan car with it.

Top 10 Cars of All Times

Top 10 Cars of All Times

I’m not particularly attracted to one certain type of car. Muscle cars; sure, I like a couple; exotics, yeah, there are some great ones. I don’t know what really qualifies a car to be great. Obviously aesthetics are a large portion, and a car can’t be some old buggy that can’t top 60 mph. I have been researching this list for the past 3 years and I think I’ve compiled a pretty good representation of the best cars of all time.

1. 1959 California Ferrari Spyder

The real car is actually a 1959 California Ferrari Spyder 250 GTO LWB, of which there are only 10 in existance, but I figured I should probably cover the gamut with this one. And that’s probably a little too specific. But seriously, unbelievable car. Sure, it’s only $4,000,000, but if you have never heard of or seen this car, LOOK IT UP. Like, now. Come back to this later. Or not at all. Just discover this car like I did. The design is incredible. It’s just SO BEAUTIFUL! It handles great, sounds great and has it where it counts, too.

2. 1967 Lamborghini Miura

Will there ever be a top 10 list without a Lamborghini on it? I actually really don’t like Lamborghinis that much. In fact, I’d go as far as to say I really don’t like them at all. But the Miura is so radically different from the others that I sometimes doubt it’s actually a Lamborghini. It is way ahead of its time, with a design that is more like something from the mid ’90s. It is a sleek, stylish, and, there’s no other way to put this, cool.

3. 2011 Porsche Cayman R

I’ve been a fan of the Caymans for longer than any other type of Porsche. So you can imagine when I discovered the Cayman R at the Detroit Auto Show in 2011, this was a real treat. The design of this Porsche is so subtly different from every other one, but something about it is just 50 times more charismatic than the others.

4. 1960 Lotus Elite

This car is so simple, yet so great. It was designed to be a racing car, but is really great looking as well. It is often overlooked by the Elan and Elise. Even the Exige S seems to have had more publicity than this. It actually took me two years to discover this car.

5. 1957 Chevrolet Corvette

Where has the Corvette gone? I hate, absolutely hate the new Corvettes, partially because they are nothing like this one. This car is an icon of the ’50s and was one of the last good corvettes.

6. 1973 Porsche Carrera RS

Speaking of classic looking porsches, this one tops them all. Some don’t find this as “awesome looking” as I do, but I personally think this is one of the best looking cars out there. Everything about it is Porsche, but it’s not overdone. It has that great shape that most of the newer porsches lack, and it is a real legend among porsches.

7. 1985 Porsche 959

A revolutionary car. This is a great porsche that is very pleasing to the eye, to say the least. With its top speed of 186 mph and a 3.6 second 0-60 time, this is a powerful, classic looking porsche.

8. 2011 Tesla Roadster

This car is tiny but innovative. It copies the design of the Lotus Elise, which is another great car. It is also extremely environmentally friendly, but it compromises nothing in the power category.

9. 2010 Ferrari Scaglietti

A lot of you probably strongly disagree with this one, and I can see why. But I think this car isn’t a car where you’d feel uncomfortable driving it and it isn’t some flashy, extravagant ferrari like the other modern ones. It’s beautiful, powerful, and like the Alfa Romeo, classy.

10. 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

I like this car more than any modern Lamborghini or other super car. It has a certain air of elegance and class mixed in with it’s insane speed and handling.

Top 10 Fastest SUVs

         Top 10 Fastest SUVs

Sports Utility Vehicles or SUV’s as they are commonly known, were never renowned for speed. They were good large vehicles and were generally considered to be more of a utility car rather than one associated with fast driving. However their growing popularity has made car manufacturers realise that if fast driving can also become one of their attributes then the SUV’s will become vehicles of choice for money.
Here are the top ten fastest SUV’s for 2011. We judged them with regards to their top speed and 0 to 60 times.

1. BMW X6m:

BMW claim that this is the fastest SUV available in the market and with a speed of zero to sixty in 4.3 seconds, the claim seems to be absolutely correct. The cost is a massive $ 88,900, and at 5000 lbs it is one of the heaviest vehicles in this list. But with BMW’s superb engine power behind it, it is a great machine.

2. BMW X5m:
Another product from the BMW stable, this ute is also a great machine. Slightly slower and heavier than the X6, it is however backed by the reputation of BMW’s excellent craftsmanship. BMW’s zero maintenance facility makes it virtually cost-free with regards to any maintenance problems which may arise.

3. Porsche Cayenne Turbo X:
Sleek and sporty, this beauty has been in the forefront of the SUV field for many years. Even the cost factor of $ 104,700 does not seem to deter those who feel it is one of the best SUV’s available. It’s twin turbo-charged V8 engine generates 500-hp with twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8, for a zero to 60 speed in 4.4 seconds.

4. Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG:
Mercedes Benz has been renowned for luxury and speed and quality. They have maintained their excellent quality in this V8, 6.3 litre 503 horsepower engine, It has a maximum speed of 155 mph, which may not be as high as the other SUV’s but it is still good enough to make this list.

5. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8:
The fastest model made by Jeep, it breaks all the myths that Jeep only has slow lumbering vehicles in it’s roster. It has a 420 horsepower, 6.4 litre V8 engine and can streak from zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds. It’s price of $ 45,000 makes it a very good buy in this category.

6. Range Rover Sport 5 Supercharged:
A fancy price of $ 115,000 makes this one of the more expensive SUV’s available in the market. It has a 510 horsepower V8 engine and it combines Range Rover’s quality with a speed of zero to 60 in 5.9 seconds.

7. Audi Q7 V12 TDI:
The Audi Q7 V12 TDI was developed by Audis Quattro GmbH high-performance division, and Audi even considered officially dubbing it an RS model. This 6.0-liter V-12 is completely new, but it shares components with Audis family of V-6, V-8, and V-10 engines. It produces 500 horsepower and 758 pound-feet of torque (1000 Nm). The crossover is capable of hitting 62 mph in 5.5 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155 mph.

8. Infiniti FX 50S:
The only Japanese model which has made it’s entry in the Top Ten list, it has a price tag of around $ 43,000. At that price it is an attractive buy and many believe it to be good alternative to the pricier BMW models.

9. Cadillac Escalade:
The largest SUV in the market, it is roomy, comfortable and combines luxury and space with speed. The size of the vehicle belies it’s speed of zero to 60 in 6.5 seconds. It offers you everything that you are looking for in an SUV, and also satisfies the desire for a faster driving vehicle

10. Chevy Trailblazer SS:
A great family car, the Chevy Trailblazer combines the speed of a Corvette with the comfort and space of an SUV. A 6.0 liter engine, 395 horsepower engine, and a price tag of below $ 40,000, makes this an excellent choice when looking for a fast SUV.

Top 10 Performance Car Upgrades

         Top 10 Performance Car Upgrades

No matter how cheap or expensive our cars are, we treat them like our babies and make sure that they have all that they need. This is why you should upgrade them regularly!

1. Electric Fans
Just like a computer, cars have fans that work over time to make sure that you car does not come to a screeching halt every time the engine heats up. Most cars come equipped with mechanical fans and while they get the job done, they also take a lot of out of the car.

2. Electric Fuel Pump

Similar to the mechanical fan, the regular pumps steal that power which should work towards moving the wheels faster. This is why you should go out and buy its electric counterpart and keep your car in sparkling condition till you decide to buy a new one!

3. Air Induction
We all know how horsepower is created- the air that is sucked in by the car’s engine travels till the fuel and creates the mixture. Naturally, if this amount can be enhanced, the horsepower will subsequently increase as well. Air Induction units do just that and the best part is that they tap into the fuel economy as well.

4. Carburetors
If the air induction unit des not appeal to you, you can always increase the capacity of your carburetor and add to the existing horsepower. This means that if you have a 4 barrel capacity, you should add to it and make it 6 barrel. Fortunately, many companies out there create state of the art carburetors because they understand that a small change could make all the difference.

5. Fuel Injection
Upgrading a carburetor will do the trick as well and this is possible if you transform it into a fuel injection. This performance car upgrade will increase the horsepower that your car runs on and keep the readings precise.

6. Performance Chips
Performance chips are easy to install and their applications are flexible, as long as you buy the right one. That being said, these are available in two categories- while some are programmed, others come along with modifiers. The horsepower will increase, your car will run faster and have greater mileage.

7. Exhaust System
We all know that every vehicle creates a lot of smoke and if that is not removed, it can enter the engine and meddle with its overall performance. Adding extra air to the engine is important but so is getting rid of it. However, every country has different laws as far as this performance upgrade is concerned so be very careful.

8. Turbochargers
Turbochargers fit into gasoline engines and this is done mainly to increase the speed of the vehicle. The extra gas is tapped into and used to move the impellor and the result is that it transforms itself into fresh air. Even though this is slightly more expensive than the other upgrades, it is worth it.

9. Nitrous Oxide
The reason for inserting Nitrous Oxide into the engine is straightforward- it will attack the fuel, send it into a frenzy and therefore, enhance the horsepower. This upgrade is available for every model and every car in the market. The method that you want to use largely depends on you.

10. Superchargers
Superchargers are attached to the vehicle and serve as an air compressor for forced induction of an internal combustion engine. The greater mass flow-rate provides more oxygen to support combustion than would be available in a naturally-aspirated engine, which allows more fuel to be provided and more work to be done per cycle, increasing the power output of the engine.
